Meet Lucy, product designer and Ocean Protector (30 secs)

Lucy, from Brighton, founded MarinaTex in response to the harm single-use plastic does to our ecosystems. ​

She studied product and material design at the University of Sussex and realised that the way we’ve been living and the products we’ve been using, have not been living harmoniously with the planet. ​

During her final year project, she invented a biodegradable plastic alternative made from fish waste and red algae and, through engineering, wants to shape a better future.​
